NW Projections presents a sneak preview of an award-winning documentary shot on location in Bellingham.

NW Projections kicks off at The Pickford Cinema with “On a Wing and a Prayer: an American Muslim Learns to Fly,” a documentary about a Pakistani-American Monem Salam’s efforts to get his pilot’s license in the tense aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Salam also happens to be a Bellingham resident and the film features extraordinary footage of the area. 

The documentary has already won two awards, including a CINE Golden Eagle and a Goldie Film Award. Director Max Kaiser will be on hand to talk about the challenges he encountered making the film.
